"Rest Stop" is about the period in life when you stop along the highway of life and reflect on the possibility of life without your significant other. At some point, the idea enters your mind and thumps your heart. Your head and heart then enter into litigation cross-examining your partner as well as your own being. This "rest stop" can prove both enlightening as well as senselessly maddening.
I am sitting here at an undisclosed "rest stop" with desires dancing in my mind. Alas, I am shackled to reality, dying to set my fantasies free.
And you are there...
My heart cries out to you..."save me!" But I cannot reach the island...that is you...
I cry...Hope?
Yea, you are a lifetime away. I perish every moment we are apart.
Your visage, a beacon of love and hope.
Your caress, the paintbrush of an angel's wing...
Again, I die.
Over and over the minutes we spend separated.
I am a husk of a man, without your touch...
Steal me! I am yours!
Do with me as you wish, but spare me the pain of solitude and isolation. Hold me and form in my soul a foundation of hope...
I pledge, from now until eternity, my heart is your playground. My body is your release.
My life - yours to use as you will.
For it is love that anchors me to you on this sea of life.
